Dr. Andrew L. Rivard

“I love the heart! Each and every beat keep us alive.”

Trained in both general surgery and radiology, Dr. Rivard conceptualized the heart preservation device as a medical student at the University of Minnesota, where he earned his B.A., M.S., and M.D.  An entrepreneur in the field of donor heart preservation with multiple awards and accolades.

Dr. Rivard completed residency training in radiology at the University of Florida in 2010.  He then started the first pediatric and adult cardiac imaging program in Mississippi and has written more than 30 peer-reviewed publications with a focus of interest on cardiac physiology, heart transplantation and cardiac imaging. Dr. Rivard is a member of the American College of Radiology, American Heart Association, and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation.

Since joining the Cleveland Clinic in 2015, he is leading a new cardiac imaging program designed for the optimal patient experience and diagnostic service excellence in Abu Dhabi.
